Although, I've often thought that creating art is just that- a creative process, I'm not really sure that in myself it is creating at all. Instead, I view it as a releasing- simply putting down something that has always existed. It is nothing more than a moment experienced within that manifests itself through media recognized by the masses to be ART.
I look at every small work of art that I do as a self-portrait. Sometimes it is manifested as a translation of my physical being and other days it is something that I witnessed or rather experienced that caught my attention and impacted my spirit to the point that it caused inner reflection of the moment.
This is a finger painting of myself in the mirror. I like to finger paint with oils (kinda toxic but life passes really quickly anyway). I look suprisingly like my Dad with really long hair. Half of my face ended up with a moustache. I must have been channeling him but I don't have any lucid memories of painting it.
The one above is a painting of a sketch that I drew during some lecture in college. I was intrigued by the simplicity and painted the colorful version 10 years later. I always loved the curvy softness in the stark lines.
The top picture is me tonight. Blake had a hard night. The bunny family is doing well with their three little ones (alvin, skipper and ruby jo jr.) . I felt free for a little while ...
